Saturday Evening Self-Care
Why not unwind and treat yourself to an epsom salt bath with essential oils.
Epsom salt has been used for hundreds of years to ease all kinds of aches and pains, when infused with essential oils they soothe the body and enliven the senses - making your soak in the tub even more rejuvenating. A warm bath detoxifies, relaxes muscles, increases circulation and pampers you.
Don't have a bath, just do a foot soak instead with the salts and oils, you will still reap all the benefits.
Here are some of my favourite oils to use
ClarySage - relaxing & soothing, balancing to the hormones and all things woman, promotes restful sleep, rejuvenating for the skin - (use with caution during pregnancy - do not use ClarySage before 40 weeks)
Lavender - calming & relaxing, ease feelings of tension, promotes restful sleep
DeepBlue or Aromatouch - perfect after a long day or an intense work-out, soothing and comforting to the muscles, lessen tension, reduce soreness
Top tip - combine the essential oils with salt in a container and give a little mix and then pour them into the bath. This makes sure the oils dispel evenly around the bath and don't just sit on top of the water.
More Blend Ideas
Relaxing Bliss: 5 drops of lavender + 5 drops of petitgrain + 3 drops of fennel + 2 drops of wild orange
Soothing Blend: 4 drops of lavender + 4 drops of roman chamomile + 4 drops of cedarwood + 3 drops of lemongrass
Up and Ready: 5 drops of peppermint + 4 drops of lavender + 3 drops of grapefruit + 3 drops of lemongrass.
Similar to using epsom salts as a base for your recipe, you can use the same blends for a Bath Oils Base, just swap out the salts for fractionated coconut oil.
Bath Oils Base
30ml of fractioned coconut oil
15 drops of Essential Oils
Blend the fractioned coconut oil and the essential oils in a small container. Add 1 tablespoon (5ml) of this bath oil to warm bathwater before bathing.
